Skilled, local workers are building the $320 million Potomac Yard Metrorail Station in Alexandria, Virginia through a project labor agreement (PLA). The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) and the City of Alexandria hired Potomac Yard Constructors as the project’s general contractor. The joint venture formed by two global construction companies, Halmar International and Schiavone Construction Co., signed a PLA. Ground-breaking happened in December and completion is projected for 2022. As work continues to ramp up, more LIUNA members will be found working on the project.
You can see construction updates and photos on the City of Alexandra website.
