The LECET/LIUNA Mid-Atlantic team is ready for peak landscaping and construction season. Are you?
When you see our workforce solution in action, we are confident that H-2B visas will be the last thought on your mind.
WHAT IS THE H2B VISA PROGRAM?
An H-2B visa is one type of visa that allows people from other countries to live and work in the United States. It was established along with other visas through an amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952. H-2B visas are employment visas granted to foreign workers for non-agricultural, seasonal jobs. The visa expires at the end of the agreed upon duration, and at that time, the worker must return to his or native country.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship of Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of Labor (DOL), and Department of State (DOS) all play a role in the H-2B visa program.
If you are a contractor who has applied for or used the H-2B visa program in the past, you know that it is not a guarantee and involves an exhaustive application process.
First, contractors must prove to the DOL an inability to staff a temporary project with qualified workers. If they meet that requirement, contractors file a petition to the DHS for the number of workers they want for the upcoming season.
The number of workers contractors end up receiving is often less than or non-existent to what they sought. Our LECET/LIUNA Mid-Atlantic team leaves nothing to chance and makes sure that you have the skilled workers that you need.
For the last few years, the 66,000 H-2B visa cap has been lifted. This has only exacerbated the overlooked, local workforce. While considered temporary, this work in actuality is permanent as it returns each and every year. Employing local LIUNA laborers provides that stability and dependability.
THE LECET/LIUNA Mid-Atlantic team has 40,000 laborers, and even more including local residents participating in LIUNA training, to fill your landscaping and construction jobs. In addition to specialized training, we offer you competitive pricing while ensuring local workers receive good pay and benefits.
Approximately 40% of H-2B visas go to the landscaping industry. From the most basic to the most complex landscaping projects, rest assured in the skills of LIUNA laborers
