It is about to get brighter in Eastern Pennsylvania. Not only will the brightness of the sun radiate from Cottontail Solar Farm’s six new farms, but there is also brightness for local laborers in the form of good jobs. MYR is the EPC contractor on the project, and MYR signed a project labor agreement with LIUNA Local 158.
Project labor agreements are known for their planning capabilities to keep a project safe, on time, and on budget as well as ensuring that a project has all of the skilled, trained workers that it needs. Construction is scheduled to begin later this month and continue for 13 months.
160-180 LIUNA members including 40 apprentices are projected to work on the Cottontail Solar Farm accumulating over 200,000 manhours. The agreement was reached during National Apprenticeship Week which celebrates apprenticeship and educates on its benefits.
